RSS Feeds
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication is an XML-based format for content distribution. When new
information is published, the RSS feed can inform readers that updated news is available without requiring
constant visits to the web site. RSS feeds keep you up-to-date on news, information and blog posts, giving you
the knowledge you need, both at work and at home. BCBSND’s RSS feeds are available free of charge.
How do I Use RSS?
To view RSS feeds, you will need an RSS reader or aggregator. There are a number of free or low-cost applications
available for you to choose from. You can set up these feeds for your online browser, your e-mail program or your
mobile device. Noridian Mutual does not recommend any particular aggregator and is making links available to the
aggregators listed below only as a service to our clients. You may choose from this list or find another that best
meets your needs. Some Internet browsers may already come with news aggregators built in.
- Feedreader
- Newsgator
- My AOL
- Bloglines
- Pageflakes
- Sage (for Firefox browsers)
- Other options
To add a feed, follow the instructions of the aggregator you choose. Typically, you will need to click on
the RSS icon
or an XML icon
to subscribe to a feed.
