Thank you for all your business in 2006. In all, NISI consulted with more than 26,000 individual employees last year in more than 500 different employer groups throughout North Dakota. This task wouldn't have been possible without the great dedication that you show to each of your employees. Research reveals few employees have the opportunity to learn about insurance or financial planning. They are often intimidated about these areas and don't seek out that information on their own. As a result, employees rely heavily on their employers to make these options available to them.
Providing your employee's access to NISI representatives to discuss and learn about their needs is a valuable employee benefit. Your willingness to use payroll deduction makes it even easier for all employees to afford benefits.
We're hoping to be able to continue to provide you with cutting-edge benefits and one-on-one direct attention for all your staff in the future. We'll also provide you throughout the year with helpful information on changes in the benefit world as well as information on additional insurance options that you may not be currently making available to your staff. In this issue, we'll address flex changes regarding both debit cards and enhancements made to design guide completion process.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING
Expect to hear from Discovery Benefits. In the past, we brought the Design Guide to you for review. Now, you will receive this document by e-mail or fax for your review. Please review, make any necessary changes and return the report directly to Discovery Benefits for renewal set up.
If your group uses debit cards, some changes from the IRS may affect your employees. Please visit www.discoverybenefits.com for most current information.
INSURANCE OPTIONS
New to NISI is a long-term care cash benefit plan. More and more employers are seeing the value of offering this key benefit to workers. Through employer plans, a large number of people have access to long-term care insurance during their working years when premiums are more affordable.
There is NO approval, NO provider bills to submit and NO waiting for payments. Simple as that. The plan also provides group discounts to employees and their family members.
